TechTAS is a sector-specific, employer-sponsored scheme for designated technology fields, administered with quota management via the Innovation and Technology Commission-vetted employer list, distinct from the general-purpose GEP.
Eligibility depends on the sponsoring company being on the ITC-vetted designated list and the role falling within a covered technology category — confirm current designated-company and sector list.
TechTAS is limited to designated technology sectors and companies vetted by the Innovation and Technology Commission and is quota-managed; GEP is the general-purpose employment channel open to any genuine vacancy across sectors. The employer should use TechTAS only if it is on the vetted list and the role fits the designated categories; otherwise GEP is the applicable route.
Confirm the employer's current TechTAS-vetted status directly with ITC before assuming eligibility for the specialist scheme.
