How to apply

  1. Pre-application — Confirm 9 cumulative §6 conditions (residence, lang, civics test, karenstid, self-sufficiency, no benefit-receipt 2y, no debt-to-public, signed loyalty declaration, oath at grundlovsceremoni).
  2. UIM application — File ansøgning to UIM Indfødsretskontoret with documentation.
  3. IFU review — Application reviewed by Indfødsretsudvalget (17 members); dispensation authority exclusive to IFU.
  4. Folketinget Lov om indfødsrets meddelelse — Twice-yearly (April + October) lovforslag fremsættes; 3 readings; vedtagelse at 3. behandling.
  5. Stadfæstelse — Monarch stadfæster the Lov.
  6. Grundlovsceremoni — Public ceremony with håndtryk (handshake) requirement per Lov 2057/2021 + signed declaration of loyalty to Grundloven.
