- A aquisição de derivados por um menor é a alternativa por aplicação à aquisição por nascimento: um menor que NÃO adquiriu a cidadania georgiana ao nascer recebe-a ao abrigo do procedimento regular quando um dos seus pais detém (ou adquire) a cidadania georgiana (artigo 13 (1)). A regra de assinatura do CBN é a porta de consentimento para maiores de 14 anos - a cidadania de um menor de 14 anos ou mais pode ser alterada (exceto perda) SOMENTE com o consentimento do próprio menor (Art. 6), portanto, a aquisição derivada ou adotiva para um jovem de 14 a 17 anos requer seu consentimento. A aquisição derivada também pode ocorrer por junção: quando a um ex-cidadão é concedida a cidadania por restauração ao abrigo da janela temporária do artigo 32-2, a cidadania também é concedida ao seu filho menor acompanhante nos mesmos termos.

Derivative acquisition by a minor is the by-application alternative to acquisition by birth: a minor who did NOT acquire Georgian citizenship at birth is granted it under the regular procedure where one of his/her parents holds (or acquires) Georgian citizenship (Art 13(1)). The signature CBN rule is the age-14 consent gate — the citizenship of a minor aged 14 or older may be changed (other than loss) ONLY with that minor's own consent (Art 6), so derivative or adoptive acquisition for a 14–17-year-old requires their consent. Derivative acquisition can also occur by joinder: when a former citizen is granted citizenship by restoration under the temporary Art 32-2 window, citizenship is also granted to his/her accompanying minor child on the same terms.
