Legal basis
Act 100/1952 §8(1) item 4:
"Umsækjandi, sem á íslenskan ríkisborgara að öðru foreldri, hafi verið hér búsettur í tvö ár, enda hafi hið íslenska foreldri haft ríkisborgararétt ekki skemur en fimm ár."
(Applicant who has an Icelandic citizen as one parent has been domiciled here for two years, provided the Icelandic parent has held citizenship for not less than five years.)
