Overview

  • The Bosnian-War refugee influx (1992-04-06 → ≈1996-1997 return phase) is the demographic and historical centre of gravity for the SI-BA bilateral context. Slovenia hosted approximately 70,000 BA-origin temporary-protection beneficiaries at peak (1992-1993) under a začasno zatočišče / temporary-protection regime predating the harmonised EU…

Legal basis

2.2 Layer 2 — Post-1991 SI-BA bilateral instruments (sparse corpus)

In contrast to the SI-HU axis (richly populated with the 1992-11-06 reciprocal-minority instrument and follow-up agreements) and the SI-HR axis (multiple instruments including the 1992-01-15 Rome Trilateral, the 2002 Stockholm bilateral framework, and the 2009 BHRAS Arbitration Agreement — territorial), the SI-BA axis has a sparse Layer-2 corpus:

SI-NAT-001). The post-Dayton stabilisation of BA enabled ordinary work-migration BA → SI from 1996 onwards, and the 1996–2013 cohort of BA-origin permanent residents in SI is substantial. The current BA-origin alien population in Slovenia is estimated at…
