Amended Art 24-A: applicants must prove a tradition of belonging based on objective, verified criteria of connection to Portugal (surnames, family language, direct/collateral descent) plus documentary proof of property/social rights or regular lifelong visits showing an effective and lasting connection; in force for the Art 24-A wording from 1 Sept 2022.
