Under AMPAG (BGBl I 39/2026, Article 7), the StbG 1985 cross-references and terminology in §5/§10/§11a/§15/§16/§59/§60/§66 are updated (AsylG 2005 -> NAG references; 'Flüchtlingseigenschaft' terminology); §15 Abs.1 Z4 deleted. In force from 12 June 2026 per StbG §64a Abs.40. No change to naturalisation eligibility, residence periods, fees or §58c.
Since 1 Sep 2020, unlimited-generation direct-line descendants of persecution victims may acquire Austrian citizenship by declaration under §58c, with no deadline and with retention of existing foreign nationality permitted.
